Description

My latest watercolor, featuring a mermaid from warm seas.

I had a kind of artblock lately, so I ended up taking a sheet of paper and drawing a long, random curve. After about 10 hours of work, here is the result =)
I'm very proud of this piece, first because is needed so long to be finished (her tail and the middle of her arms are covered in many little scales, most of which I have drawn on the sketch stage AND color stage... 4 hours only for the tail X_x), and also because I think I managed to get something nice with a palette I'm not familiar to.

not to be critical but 10hours wow and 4hours just tale?u probably were scared of making tiny mystake..watercolors are ment to be fast fastest technique..in past usually painters went outdoors..with out help of digital camera...so to catch colors and shapes of landscapes they used watercolors to make scatch then they returned to studio where they painted oil on canvas hours..(u can use it fast as pigments dry fast on paper unlike oils)
l just admire your patience..unless you enjoy doing it this way..try to free yourself what ever takes 10hrs is hard work..if it takes less time its more fun
any way its adorable
